I was 37. I noticed lumps in my neck 4 months after my first son was born. I was also feeling really tired but thought it was just because I had a colicky baby and wasn't getting much sleep. Turned out I was also hypothryoid (Hashi's). I went in for a CT and US with FNA of my thyroid and lymph nodes. My lymph nodes were very large so it wasn't a question of whether I had cancer, but what kind. My FNAs were definitive, papillary carcinoma in thyroid and LNs. I had the diagnosis in the end of Feb of 05, waited until April 5th of 05 for my TT (needed the "good surgeon"). I had RAI in 8/05. I was given permission to have another baby, and got pregnant on my first cycle and had another healthy boy in 8/06. In 9/06 my neck US was normal, no evidence of cancer. I have another follow-up visit with my endo next month. I feel great. I don't have any complaints about how I feel after my TT and RAI. I just don't want it to come back. You'll find some descriptions of people's experience with TT amongst the threads here. There are also many women discussing thyroid issues on the BabyCenter website under trying to conceive with thyroid issues.
