Subject: small nodes in lung

I had my left kidney taken out 3 months ago ad have stage 3b RCC. I just found out they found 2 small nodes in my lungs via cat scan (one in each lung). I am worried even though they did not call it cancer. This was my first CAT scan of the lungs, they are not doing anything until I get another cat scan. Are there others, that had nodes as I described, that turned out not to be mets???
Thanks

Yes, my husband had a couple of small (mm) size spots on his lungs, they went away after the first round of Sutent. I know everyone is different, but I have read a lot of the posts and quite a few have seen results for spots, or tumors on their lungs. Good luck to you.

I had a successful left renal nephrectomy in 1/07.

All margins were clear, i.e.: no cancer found in the lymphnodes & the renal artery which was also removed. The tumor was contained. My follow-up chest X-Ray in May , 07 found some small spots that the CT scan later found 6 small nodules. My PET C.T. test came back negative (no uptake) even though one nodule was @ 1cm & one was 1.2cm. The Radiologist that read the PET felt that these two nodules would have had intake it they were met/cancer. However a week later, an oncologist at Univ. of Chicago thought the nodules looked (from  the CAT/PET tests) to be more like 80% cancer  !!! What gives as I'm now very scared.

The U of C doc wants another CT scan in Sept to follow the nodules size/changes.

Has anyone else had such contradictory test evaluations (PET CT)?

Thanks & God Bless everyone stricken w/ this wicked disease.
