I had a total thyroidectomy in Sept. '06 and since then, I've had a raspy speaking voice. I can live with that - it's the singing voice that hasn't come back at all. Research tells me to give it time but I haven't made any improvement at all. Especially high notes. In fact I only have about a 5 note range compared to 2 1/2 octaves before the surgery. It feels like there is something keeping my adam's apple from moving up in the higher range. Anybody have the same problem? Are there exercises that I need to do?
