My mother had the same difficulty swallowing, claiming it felt like it was just lying in her throat. Her doctor says with pancreatic cancer stage 4- the gallbladder is probably not working. My momma went in on Dec.18, 2006 for gallbladder surgery...the surgeon found cancerous cells on her ovary..therefore diagnoised it as ovarian cancer. Our doctor called Houston's cancer center, M.D. Anderson to schedule momma an appointment. He made one for the first of FEBRUARY!! When we got back to the house I made several personal phone calls and ended up getting her an appointment for January 3, 2007. With all films in hand from our doctor, me, my daddy, and my momma headed to Houston, TX, from Arkansas. The cancer did not originate in the ovaries, our gynecologic oncologic doctor said, it orgin is from the pancreas. So we are scheduled the following week for a pancreas biopsy. January 22, 2007, my momma was diagoised with stage 4 pancreatic cancer(in the body part of the pancreas). Plus it had metastatized in the lining of her abdomen. inoperable, besides a miracle, chemo was our only option. She took her first treatment in Arkansas on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007. 2 1/2 great days following her treatment...but all down hill from there. In and out of ICU from Friday, Jan. 26, 2007 to Friday, March 2, 2007, when she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. If you have any questions about this "silent", disease, don't hesitate to ask. I can't guarantee I will have the ansers....but it dosen't hurt to ask.
