has any one out there had trouble getting a pet scan my husband has had two and now once again the ins wants to deni it because they say it is investagational whitch should be a great thing after all it can pick up small pin size cancers why wouldn't they want to use it thanks for your help bobbi

let them know pet scans are approved by Medicare and then find the organization in your state that adcovates for you vs insurance. Since pet is medicare approved they should approve

Ask your insurance company what you can do to have this test approved. Sometimes all it takes is notes from his doctors explaining why they think they need this test. I just had a CT Pet Scan done on Monday. The doctor I have had to do some work to get this test approved. It took him two days to get this test approved. Don't take no for an answer, If an insurance company denies a test you have the right for a review. I wish you and your husband all the luck in the world. Mary Grace
