that is nonsense! there is always something that can be done!
i am a 37 year old female and i was dx with stage iv esophageal cancer in march of 2008..it had spread to lymph nodes, but no other organs. never ever during any time did any of my dr.s give me reason to give up. no one ever told me i was not going to make it. in fact, all my dr.s had he same goal...cure! i was treated at memorial sloan kettering in nyc and i believe i received the best care available. i went through advanced chemo and radiation and when complete, all scans and biopsies show no evidence of live cancer cells. after extensive thought and recommendations from my dr.s i decided to go through with surgery(ivor lewis) because it was the only way to be 100% sure there was no cancer left behind. surgery proved this to be the case and i sit here typing to you, one year later and completely cancer free!
please tell your husband there is plenty that can be done, you just need to have a positive attitude, the right dr.s and family and friends who love and support you.
please be well and if there is any thing you would like to know, please do not hesitate to ask!
God bless!

Hello,
My 43-year-old brother was just diagnosed with stage IV gastrio-esophageal cancer and told that not much can be done, although we haven't gotten the results of the CT scan yet and discussed treatment options. I believe the doctors are going to suggest chemo. Did you hear anything about the photodynamic therapy from anyone?
Thank you,
Susan (sunnyhii)
