Stage II Pancreatic Cancer

Hi There! I'm new to this board but have come to enjoy it already.  My dad who is turning 48 in May, has recently been diagnosed with cancer in the pancreas and it has spread to the liver.  He has been unable to eat anything becuase he is getting constipated every day and has to be taken into the ER for enemas and such.  Anyways, yesterday we had our meeting with the oncologist and it was determined that it is Stage II cancer and is in-operatable.  It was a releif becuase everything that we were reading, was pointing towards stage 4, however the in-operatable thing sucks.  Anyways, next week he starts chemo for 7 weeks, on and one week off.  One of the drugs they will be using starts with a "G".  I can't remember the name but apparently it's had amazing outcomes.  Well the reason why I am posting this message is because the doctor says one the main things we have to do is get his spirits back up becuase if they are not he won't be able to fight this.  So I'm looking to stories of people in similar cases that have beat the odds and are living well.  If you know of any websites or if you have your own story, please let me know so I can give them to my dad.  Once again thanks to everyone for their messages on this board, as being a 21 yr old and having to deal with this, I'm having a hard time, but reading and knowing people are going through this and dealing with it i know I can too.  Take care everyone.  My prayers and thoughts are with you all.  If you ever need anyone to chat with just let me know!  :)

Hi Cori (Fightinghard) How lucky your Dad is to have you advocating for him. Here is a website that is so encouraging for anyone in his position. I have a friend who is taking similar treatment for terminal (throughout his whole body) cancer and he is doing very well. He was told he would not live to see Christmas 2006 and his condition improves daily. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your precious father. THERE IS HOPE!.
