my father was diagnosed with PC in June 2006. He has underwent chemo and radiation. He is now cancer free. (since Feb 2007.) He was given a combination treatment called GTX (Gemxar,Taxotere,& Xeloda.) His CA-19-9 dropped from 4300 to 18. We went to the Doctor on March 20, and it is back up to 41. His Doctor is doing another Petscan to see what is going on. Is there a possibility that it could come back so soon? I don't know how well I will take a second time around. He is everything to me. I don't know what I would do without him. He was finally able to go back to work. If you have any comments please share.

Hi,

It could be back PC is  very aggressive. But also I have been reading and a good website with info is http://www.path.jhu.edu/pancreas. Sometimes infections or other things can bring that number up. Sounds like your dad is in good hands if his doctor is running a PET. What type of PC is your father dx?
