Help me please

My mother in law is in her 4mos with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, she gained 45-50 pounds. Her stomach is huge. They tap her stomach every couple weeks but it blows right back up the next day. She had cellulitis but her legs still look horrible. Is this results of her liver starting to fail. She has cancer in the liver and lungs also. I do not think she will make her 6 mos mark. If anyone could give me some answers I would really appreciate this. I am just an in law so the family never explains anything to me. I am on the internet looking all this up on my own for my husband. The family isn't medically smart. My mother in law cannot do anything anymore. I just see this ending soon, I do not mean to be morbid, I am just trying to prepare, I have a 6 yr old daughter. Thank you all, and god bless.

Your mother in law is in end stage.  Comfort care and Hospice should be instituted.  She has ascites due to the tumor.  Rather than drain it every few days they can place a "tap" to intermittently remove fluid to help with breathing and releave pressure They can also give a diuretic.  Sorry for the situation, but the focus should be on comfort care and I don't think any therapeutic attempts would be worthwhile.
