My dad has been very fatigue lately spends most of his time in bed. He complains of no energy. His last blood work two weeks ago were  good accept the ca 19-9 is rising. He had 2 rounds of oxyplatin and xeloda the numbers contiuned to rise. My dad wants to keep fighting so he wants to try taxotere and gemzar. Do you think it is to late since he is so tired to try another chemo?

Could the fatigue be from something else, He broke his arm a month ago and recieved a cortizone shot.

any ideas please

causes for the fatigue could be multiple, but most likely due to his cancer.  Is he on pain meds?  Does he have anemia?  Is he eating?  The disease itself can cause fatigue due to rapid cell growth and poor appetite.  I think he should keep trying as long as he is willing and his doc agrees.
