Rate of recurrence after surgical resection of Stage 1B pancreatic cancer

In January 2007, I had 50% of my pancreas removed. The diagnosis was stage 1B. I had one tumor/cyst that was greater than 2 cm in the body of the pancreas and a smaller tumor/cyst (.4 cm) that was 7 cm away from the first tumor/cyst.

I worry about recurrence. I am to receive a CT scan every 6 months. Does anybody know the rate of recurrence of stage 1B?

Also, how long does it take to get my former energy level back? I have never felt such fatigue.

I do not know the specifics to your dx, but that is great your cancer was caught early many people discover the cancer at late stages. Some people do advujant therapy, xeloda and radiation

lets assume this is adenocarcinoma. PC will most likely recurr. Additional therapy is needed post surgery which you didnt mention. Either 5FU based +/- Gemzar will lower the risk of recurrence. But the risk is still high. In addition to CT scans ask for CA 19-9 levels with each scan.
