just diagnosed

My husband has just been diagnosed with Stage IV PC met to liver.  He is  not a candidate for surgery.  We went to MD Anderson and they have really been great!  We are taking agressive action with a combination of GemZar/Cistplastin/Tarceva.  He has had 3 treatments with minimal side effects.  He has 2 more treatments before he goes back to MD Anderson for tests.  I want to help him all I can.  We have been married 30 years.  I don't really expect any answers but I need to vent.  Thanks for listening!

 Know the urge to talk about it. My wife's secondary oconolgist is at MD Anderson.  We have been there three times but do all our treatments in Charlotte, NC. MD a bit more aggressive in their approach which we have followed along with agreement from our primary. My wife was diagnosed in Jan06 (mets to liver and spine) so something is working. Have done Gemzar/Cisplatin plus other stuff and now on Gemzar/Tarceva. Sounds like your husband is handling it very well and I wish you well. My wife is a huge fan of both her doctors but relies on MD Anderson for the final say. I think you are in great hands, especially as far as what is working and working is not.  Best of luck.
