My mother in law has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed dec 27, 2007. The first 2 months were ok. Then she got cellulitis of the legs and needed iv antibiotics. Then her stomach began to swell like she was having triplets. She gained like 50 pounds. The drs tapped her twice but the fluid comes right back. The drs said if the jaundice comes back, that we should prepare for the worst. Now the last 2 weeks she really went down hill. She eats very little. She will talk to you and then she will pass out in the middle of a conversation. She cannot clean herself and has now bowel control. Her eyes are turning yellow. Her urine is the color of coca cola. She even talks off the wall. I slept over her house and in the morning she told me she swolled the sun. I am scarred for the worse. I take care of her during the day and I am so scared she will die when I am there. I do not want her to die but she is suffering a lot. Did anyone else go through this. Can anyone help me out. Do you think she will live another month in this agony. I have been on the john hopkins chat also. If anyone could help and give me the truth I would love to hear from you. Thank you so much and God Bless!
has she had any treatment for her PC? Gemzar or Gemzar combo's have increased survival by quite a bit. Is she pain free? How long she survives is up to her and God. All you can do is fight the good fight and make sure she is comfortable.
