My father has a blockage in his bile duct which we have been told is being caused by 'abnormal cells'. CT scan and ERCPs did not show a tumour at this stage and he will have another ERCP this week to insert a stent to allow bile to flow freely and thereby hopefully alleviate the jaundice. We've been told it has been detected early. Unfortunately he is also waiting for heart bypass surgery. If his heart surgeon decides his heart is strong enough he is scheduled for whipple next week. Has anyone else had the same experience?
My Daddy died from pancreactic cancer. He was the color of a pumpkin. Orange. They messed up the first whipple. Anyway it is a good thing they found it so soon in your dad. The Doctors have this test they do through some vein or artery in the groin area with a camera that checks out the heart. Then they plug up the incision with a colegen plug. The plug is pretty big but it stops the bleeding and just disolves. Medical miracal. My opinion is no body wants to loose their Daddy. I hope your dad's heart is strong enough to have the whipple. No body deserves the kind of pain that pancreatic cancer causes. Maybe they could to both surgeries at once. I wish you all the love, luck and goodness life has to offer.
