hi i am 74 yrs old...i have mgus...i go every 6 months for blood work. today my dr. told me my mgus is going up, not to worry. it has a long way to go...but i should come back every 3 months now..for sure this has me worried. i read mgus never developes into anything, but i wonder...it is always on my mind. i'd love to e-mail with other people who have mgus..thank you mitzi

Actually, MGUS can develop into something.  Thats why your doc is checking your levels.  For unknown reasons, in about one quarter of people with MGUS, there is a progression to a cancerous disorder, such as multiple myeloma, macroglobulinemia, or B-cell lymphoma, often after many years. This progression cannot be prevented.
