I was diagnosed in 1/06 at stage iv MCL. Treated with 6 rounds of R-CHOP, followed by Stem Cell Transplant.Now on a 2yr mainentance of Rituxan.I was a 50 yo female when diagnosed. Now 52!
My question is; usually if you are fortunate enough to be diagnosed at stage 1, they proceed with a watch and wait untill blood or scans show something more significant. What were her symptoms, did she have biopsy or what reason did the onc have to proceed so viciously? I was told the the HyperCVAD was a very aggressive treatment. I had no radiation until preparing for the transplant. I am assuming it can recur at any time. Your wife is fortunate to be n remission for so long. God Bless!
