I am now a 5 year survivor of inflammatory breast cancer 3rd stage, I had a double mastectomy to aid in my chances of survivoral along with two phases of chemotherapy, which one of the side effects was neuropathy in both hands and feet for about four months, then that subsided, and the I had nine weeks if radiation then three month latter reconstruction, all seemed well them I developed lymphedema in my right arm, which is a daily thing to deal with, but my bigest concern is that for the past year I experiance daily pain through out my whole body and if I do anything outside of my normal day i am in bed the next day with the pain so bad, I just when though a CT scan in January which came back clear of any cancer, But Doctors not sure why I have the pain that I do. Also a form of the neuropathy has returns in both hands. Does any one out there know of or anyone who has this type of problem.

If you're experiencing pain all over, I suggest you insist on a bone scan, because that's what I had and the cat scan I had was clear, but I have cancer in my spine, hips and ribs now. Please insist on a bone scan. Good Luck!

Shortly after completing chemotherapy, I began to experience "all over pain." After years of trying to track down a reason, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia will not show up in bone scans or the such; it won't show up in a blood work up. A rheumetologist or internist familiar with the syndrome can perform a physical pressure point test to determine if fibromyalgia might be the cause of your "all over pain."

Thank you for your information, I thought of this , but had not idea of how to get the Doctors to check for fibromyalgia. I had a bone scan and a CT scan as well as MRI but all came back clear. They put me on celerbrex, but that makes my blood pressure go up , so with the scare of viox and heart attachs, well I decieded not to take it.
How many years has it been for you now and what type of cancer?

Thank you for your response.

I did have a bone scan and it came back clear, but then I asked the doctor to run a MRI as well because if it was soft tissue then the bone scan would not detect the cancer, he agreeed, I also had a CT scane at the same time to cover all the bases.

They put me on celebrex for the pain but it causes my blood pressure to go up and with the latesest scares about these types of drugs I have decieded to deal with the pain, I feel that most of the pain it related to rheumatriod pain more than any thing at this time. I have a TIN unit that I use to interupt the dain on some days.

I am so sorry to hear that you have cancer in these areas because I know from my own pain that yours must be hard to deal with.
I hope the best for you.
