My dad is considering going to MD Anderson in Texas.  Has anyone been treated there?  Is is difficult to get in?  Do they take most insurance plans?  How was your experience?  Was it good?

 Thanks again for any information.

My wife was diagnosed more than a year ago with Stage IV pancreatic cancer that has spread to the spine and liver. That was a year ago.  Since then we have received great care in Charlotte (NC) supported by MD Anderson.  Great research facility you have to go to because they specialize in the PC. Our hero is Dr. Wolff but the whole group is organized and ready to provide you with the best advice available. Their treatment is agressive but cutting edge.  Best of luck and our prayers are with you. Kevin

you are so blessed.  could you tell us what meds/chemo your wife was/is on?  what is the name of the facility?  Any other info is greatly appreciated.

Your story brought a smile to my face, first one since my mother was diagnosed with PC IV.,

Kevin, would you mind sharing the name of your Charlotte Oncologist? That would be a big help to me. Best wishes and sincere prayers for you and your wife. Thanks, Janet

Janet,

My wife's doctor in Charlotte is Dr. Frenette. We can't say enough about him.

Janet,

I sent a lengthy reply on the treatment. I may have hit the wrong send so if you didn't get it let me know.

Kevin

Kevin,

Thank you so much for Dr. Frenette's name. I was not the earlier poster who requested your wife's treatment regime, though I'd be thrilled to hear incase I can learn anything from her path/success. The message you referenced did not go through (oh my..). You're so good to respond. Thanks!  Janet

Kevin,

Thanks for reviewing your wife's chemo with me.  I'll review  it with the doctors.  My mother is currently on Gem/Tarceva and the first CT scan is the 15th.

Your kindness is greatly appreciated.

Amy
