Life After Treatment

I have just recently had a stem cell transplant done at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, California. It was a very unique experience for my entire family. The actual procedure went extremely well. it required 15 days in the hospital, where I received close care and attention from the entire Staff. The stem cell transplant was nothing more than donating my own blood, receiving drastic chemo therapy and receiving my own blood back as a transfusion. My stay was enjoyable except for a 2-3 day period where I was so sick I couldn't smell, let alone taste food. I was very fortunite to go home on Thanksgiving morning so I could enjoy my family and a "large" meal consisting of 2 slices of turkey!!! I am noe on oral maintaince program consisting of Thalidomide & steriods.

My husband was just diagnoes with MM in May of this year, how long does it take to go into remission, before he can have his transplant? He is in stage 1 right now and currently taking revlimid with dexamethazone, just wondering how loing it usually takes to get into remission and start feelign better, he is 42 years old.
