unanwered questions

I just lost my wonderful father at age 72 on the 22nd of April. Up until the beginning of April, he was a strong man, just had some flu like symptoms that didn't get better. He went in for a check-up and was sent to the hospital (his very first visit EVER!) for an irregular heartbeat. He then had a ct, and tumors were found on his pancreas (one) and the liver (twelve of them). He had a biopsy on the 6th and was diagnosed on the 13th of April. He didn't seem to have bad pain until a couple of days before he passed away, which we are so thankful for. He did have one chemo treatment of Gemzar on Thursday (April 19th). It is hard to believe that he went so fast, but the one thing that helps is that he didn't suffer. Has anyone else had their loved one go so quickly? My prayers go out to all of you dealing with this cancer. Lynda

He may have died from medical/heart related problems rather then the cancer itself but the cancer likely weaken his general health and perhaps this had impact on the outcome.

Yes, my father died 8 weeks from diagnosis, after complications from the Whipple.  Very hard to deal with.  If you go to www.craigscause.ca you can see my Dad.  You Dad was also too young to die; this disease really does not discriminate.  I am so sorry that you have to go through this horrendous situation.  Please visit us on the site.

PS Our stories very similar, as my Dad was also a very healthy and fit man.  All the best.
