X-Rays

Hi,

 I have been having pain in my hip/groin area as well as buttocks with referred pain to the outside of my knee and below.  Will a sarcoma show up on an x-ray or do you need to have a CT or MRI?

Thank you so much for your response.  If possible can you please tell me where that might have been and what maybe were the symptoms that precipitated the thinking to get the MRI.
