We are new to this, and just starting chemo treatments. We are going in for the 2nd treatment (2 days every 2 weeks) and he has only begun the last day or so to experience some nausea in the mornings. It helps to eat. I was thinking it may get worse, since he is going in tomorrow and the next day for additional chemo. He has compazine he can take, does anyone have any advice or infor that may help us? His is cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct) and a large tumor on the liver. oxaliplatin for chemo.  I dont know the dose as yet. Thanks

My mom was in the hospital for 4 days with uncontrollable vomiting from her first session with oxaliplatin.  Ask for EMEND..it's the newest antiemetic on the market.  This is taken on the first day of chemo followed by the next 2 days after that.  It literally changed my mom's life with her next treatments.  NO nausea at all....also ask for an extra fluid bolus during chemo and keep Zofran on hand.  Best of Luck-

My dads Dr. gave us these suppositories..(did I spell this right?) And they work wonderful..and very quick..and there is no chance of throwing it up. No half hour wait, just right away at ease. Good luck! Any one who is going through this deserves mountains..I am so sorry.
