Apparently, he was the first one in the states accepted for this trial. He has pancreatic cancer. He started his treatments today, 10/19. Date: 02/22/2006 Mason, My father has advanced pancreatic cancer and I have been looking for a good clinical trial or whatever will work best for him. Mayo clinic called me today to talk about this trial for Rexin G, they are having now. Any word on how your brother in law is doing in this, since I'm deciding if I should get my father into this. She has not had any chemo since nov.2005 and started Rexin G in Dec. 2005. She has had several cycles and is doing well to date. She is not on clinical trial, instead she has had escalated dose to maximize efficacy of the vector. Rexin G has no bad side effects like chemo. It was well worth the cost. Mayo is doing clinical test specific to pancreatic cancer. They have 25 spots with 6 taken. My wife has PC and we are on gemzar an olixaliplaton (sp) which showed the tumor was smaller than 8 weeks earlier. We have investigated rexin g and see that as our next option. One limitaiton is that you can the 3rd gemzar combination therapys can eliminate you as a trial canadate. Please let me know how things are going with the search or if you get on the rexin g. You said your mother had Rexin G outside of a clinical trial and that it was worth the cost. Where? What was the cost? And what were the results? I understand that the Mayo clinical trial results have not been spectacular.
