I posted the following in another forum:
I am still highly interested in Dr. Shantha but have put the issue of his therapy on hold temporarily because:
1. I received virtually no response to my original query
2. The cancer victim whose involvement with Dr. Shantha led me to raise the questions has died.
I can only say that I was highly unimpressed with this whole operation. The patient began the therapy and continued with it through several stages but had to withdraw for lack of funds. (The price quoted was $25,000). There was never any evidence that the therapy did any good. Of course, Dr. Shantha will claim that obviously the therapy could not work if it were not completed.
The most riveting memory I have from this affair is when the patient told me that, after she had raised the issue of her lack of funds, Dr. Shantha's staff recommended that she sell her house in order to be able to continue with the therapy! This suggestion, to a mother of several children and modest middle class financial resources.
You must draw your own conclusions from the above. I fully understand the probable desperation that led you to Dr. Shantha. But I would look long and hard--and with healthy scepticism--at his claims. Above all, press him for solid information on the actual number of patients who have benefited. And keep searching for information on the Web and elsewhere.
