Hi Chrissy,

Please let me know the results after the 18th. This is a terrible kind of cancer, but my husband Peter and I feel blessed with every good day. As you know he refused chemo, since it couldnot cure, only lengthen his lifetime. The stent is still doing its work very well; our next appointment is the 11th but we think there will be no (bad) news, since he is doing so fine. He even gained 5 kilo's weight since he is out of hospital.

I am thinking of you and your mum and hope she can hang in there a while longer. Anyway you gained some quality time with her, when she stopped chemo.

All the best and hope to hear from you,

Iris.

Hi Chrissy,

Here the 18th of July has passed and I have been thinking of you and your mum. Do you have any results from the tests?

My Peter is doing so well at this moment and I really hope it can be the same with your mother. Peter started working, first half days; than a whole day and this week he went three full days to his work and is enjoying it. He also played squash again and he looks much better than a few weeks ago.

We know the timebomb is still ticking, but are having very good days and weeks now and enjoy it.

Hope to hear from you soon, much love,

Iris.

Hello Iris,

You and I seem to bounce back and forth from this particular message to the one called "Anyone out there?"   Yes...I too am anxious to hear about Crissie's Mom's results...maybe tomorrow she will have some time to let us all know.

It's funny how just a little twinge or a little ache can make me paranoid!  I, like your husband, feel good now but know our world can come crashing down.  Since yesterday, my esophagus has wanted to act up...when I swallow food, it wants to "say no!" and give a little ache.  Hospice nurse wants me to tell her if it continues.....beach comes first!  Sorry.  6 more days but who is counting...

Hot and humid days here in South Carolina.

Regards, Pam

Hi Pam,

Yes, there are a couple of patients and caregivers who bounce about. Chris' mum has been doing so well, that I'm really hoping she still will have some time.

However I do realize this is a very nasty kind of cancer. Look most of us, I'm torn between hope and reality. I can promise you, it's almost as bad for a caregiver as for the patient.

When I see my Peter running around again, getting some suntan and a round butt (sorry) again, I really feel lucky. But we both know this can and will change, only not when. Peter has a calm peace in his eyes; he says he isnot scared and I do believe him. He also says he is not fighting, just telling his body what he wants from it and enjoying that up till now that works. The future is far away, he feels. And to-day is good.

Pam, if you like to mail me directly, I can tell you that you can do that to irisvantulder. This site doesnot accept mail-addresses, so here comes the second part: at hotmail.com

In Holland we had a completely outrageous warm month of April. But that was it, it looks. It's raining a lot now. So we are still waiting for some nice days in a row to come and we will leave for a trip to our beachy island.

I wish you a lot of warm sand between your toes.

Iris.

thank you all so much for thinking of me and my Mom.  We still not have full results from the scan but tumor has increased a bit and bile duct dialated.  She is vomiting very badly today and yesterday and we may have to admit her, even she is starting to want to go and she never wants to go.  Iris i see on another post that your husband is working?  Great news. Please all keep me posted

Hi Chrissy,

Thanks for your news. This is such a nasty kind of cancer and we all, caregivers and patients, know the timebomb is ticking. I keep thinking of you and your mom and wish you all the strength that is needed.

Much love, Iris.
