My brother was diagnosed 9 months ago with stage 3B lung cancer. He started a strong regiment of Chemo two different kinds one containging platinum. During his treatment he got pynamonia which interupted his treatment. Once that was under control, he went back and continued his treatments, after his last treatment, he came down with hives and his feet and leggs swelled up and the pnymonia returned. He is now in the hospital getting mega doses of antibiotics and lasix. The doctor said that his tumors are larger and have multiplyed. I have been trying to get him into City of Hope but keep hitting road blocks because of all the red tape.
Is there anyone out there that can tell me how to go about getting a second opinion? We need to know that we tried everything possible. I lost my sister 4 years ago to the same diease. He has medical and it seems that if you don't have medical insurance no one wants to help you!
