Hey Everyone,

I'm a 27 year old female, non smoker...having major anxiety.  About three weeks ago, I noticed a smallish lump on my jaw line.  It was painless, and moveable.  Because I have anxiety, I ended up going to the emergency room, who's doctor told me it looked like a tooth absess.  Went to my dentist on the Monday, who said it wasn't, and my teeth are totally fine.  Dentist did a panoramic xray, plus general xrays, didn't see anything abnormal.  Went to my GP who ordered mandible xrays..came back absolutely normal.  Anyways, I'm moving so I went to my new GP who I told this story too, and she ordered mandible xrays plus soft neck tissue xrays...haven't gotten those back yet.  Currently my symptoms are a tingly left side of face (sometimes, and its not a stroke), painful neck, painful areas on the neck....vague pain... and major anxiety.  Everytime I try and look up a symptom on the net, I get all these cancer links...its scary and I think I'm losing my mind.  Dad was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma in Dec. 05...now is cancer free...his came out in a large lymph node on his neck....I'm just freaked that they're going to miss something on me or my xrays and I"m going to die.  ....yes I know I need help for my anxiety, but I can do that at a later time.

You should see  a specialist, that way you will be comfortable with your concerns.

I had non hodgkins lymphoma, you can't tell by just the swelling of lymph nodes. Test need to be done.  Swollen lymph nodes are an indication of lots of different virus, infection etc. Could be sinus or allergy infection.  I am now in remission and hope to be there for life.  One of the things I've been trying to improve my immune system.  I take Immune Support by Dr. Weil daily along with multi.  If you are worried about your immune system, there are other things you can do,  I'm still in the learning stage. Good that you are having it checked out, always listen to your body as you are and telling your Dr.

The best to you, Joanna
