memory loss after transplant

I have a friend that had a stem cell transplant over 3 weeks ago and is experiencing memory loss and confusion.  She has battled other things as well (GVHD, etc..) but I haven't been able to find any info on the mental issues she is experiencing.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  Thanks.
