Subject: Information on ureteral cancer
Date: 05/17/2007

My father has recently been diagnosed with cancer of the urethra with secondaries in the lymph nodes. His prognosis is 1 - 2 years. There seems to be very little information on this rare type of cancer and the hospital has taken an age to come to this conclusion.

Has anybody had any experience of dealing with this type of cancer with a decent long term recovery?

Is there any value in getting a second opinion?

 Thank you

Yes, he does. Any advice or info on your experiences would be hugely appreciated. Thanks

I was told by my doctor that i am the 51st women in the world with this type of cancer.

Over all it looks like i have a 25% chance of making 5 years that was as of 2004 but its 2007 now and hopefully they have learned more now.

I have an indiana pouch and things are going good.

But i am afraid that it will come back. Any detailed questions you would like ansered you may ask and i will do the best i can to anser.
