I recently went for my annual exam where i brought up what i noticed for the past 4 years on my labia minora. I had seen 4 different docs in that time that all muttered the same thing , "it was aging and normal" ...I am 27 now..
so I asked again, this time he didn't notice til I pointed it out, because he was too fast with the exam to begin with..then he came back worried and said that needs to be biopsied asap for a melanoma. since I didn't trust him anymore i went for a second opinion, which told me the same but was more relaxed about it and said i could make sure it didn't get worse and maybe wait til fall to have it done. since the biopsy she warned would make things sore and irriated for months.. (im questioning if this caues permanent pain since its below the clitoris on the lip about a 1 cm in length. she made it sound simple- i thought for a vaginal biopsy maybe but labia minora seems rather small to go around cutting things up.
I dont know whether I should wait, justbecause like she said my health isn't well from nutritional defiinces from a stomach ulcer at present. Moreso I dont know should i contact sloan kettering cancer place to have this done at. Considering the area is so vulnerable being clitoral section shouldn't i have someone who has seen this before do this, rather then someone who just has done biopsies in general of other areas???
I trust this doc opinion however her calmness i feel was reassuring me to think okay about it. She just said it was under my decision to wait now or later. I feel both people who saw this already just aren't experieanced in seeing this cancer if so to know what to do or tell stages really unless late stage in obvious nature.
Has anyone had this out there on the labia minora or had a biopsy of that area?? any opions on who i should see to have this done i apprecciate. I feel very comfy with this old dr I saw,I just question their expertise. I dont want permanent pain because it was done wrong or not often. then afterwards told it could have been done another way.
