There is a section which states one treatment for advanced Thymoma is Chemo followed by surgical resection and, then, postoperative radiation. This is exactly what had been prescribed for mom. Thus, her specialist must know what he is doing (I hope!). Thanks. So, if she is a high surgical risk then she does have the option for less invasive therapy. The chemo shrinks the tumor but does not cure it most of the time. If they can't isolate the lungs enough, they usually won't do radiation. Not to scare anyone, but radiating the lungs can kill you faster than the thymoma will.
