lung cancer that spread to the bones

my name is samantha and i am 18 yrs. old. my father (54 yrs old) was diagnosed with lung, bone, thyroid and lymph node cancer about a month ago. they have not yet started radiation of chemo but that is just right around the corner. i need to know anything that anyone can tell me because i really dont know what to expect and my family on his side basically refuses to let me in on the whole truth. any information will be greatly appreciated. i dont know any of you people but, thank you for the support.
