1St Year

It will be one year very soon since my Dad passed away from cancer and I want to do something very special and buy somethings that each of us in the family has which will remind us of him.  I cannot even find a place to donate a tree in his memory from me.   Friends have bought books and donated money in his memory.  I want to do something different.  I want to have a special service for him.

I had a nice park bench installed with a nice brass plaque on it saying "In Memory of.."  This was for my Mom who died suddenly of a heart attack in 1999.  My father will make sure my name will be on the plaque when the cancer takes me.  I live in the US and this park bench is in England where Mom and Dad lived.  Dad keeps the plaque polished and where it is situated is near a clump of birch trees with various flowers around.  It is comforting to see people resting on "our" bench as they make their way back home from the lake/park area.  A bit premature or morbid?  I don't see it that way.
