I received a reply to my question and problem with TAXOL chemo treatment from Tracee H. I would very much like to thank you for your reply. I was going to go in and talk my chemo doctor and tell her--because of the bone pain and nerve pain--I just could not do this. After reading what Tracee has gone throught--I realize even if the doctors do their best--there are no guarentees--CANCER can come back. My surgeon says they can cut out the cancer but when it has reached a lymnth node--cancer is sneaky and dangerous. Can reappear in your body. I also read on the cancer research the side effects of TAMOXIFEN. It benefited a lot of people, however, women over 60 years of age should consider the high risk of stroke or heart attack with it. It is like darned if you do and darned if you don't. If anyone has anymore help or pointers how to deal with this, I would appreciate it. Thank you

Hi, my name is Andrea K. If you are post menopausal there are new drugs that don't have the side effect of Tamoxofin. I take Arimidex. It has been great! This one is state of the art. I had cancer of the breast it was in 5 lymph nodes. I have been clear since Jan of 2003.

I too had Taxol and Carboplatin for the initial treatment of my ovarian cancer. The Taxol was hard to take. It gave me neuropathy and my bones hurt so bad that I could hardly walk for a couple of days following chemo. I toughed it out since it was the best treatment for my cancer. The doctor wanted me to continue with consolidation therapy following the initial series of Taxol and Carboplatin. I asked him if there was anything else I could take and he prescribed Taxotere chemotherapy. I have been on it every four weeks since this January and the effects are minimal. No aching bones and my neuropathy is almost gone. I'm even getting back a little hair fuzz on my head. The doctor said that Taxotere was in the same family as Taxol.

Hope you've found a solution for your problem.

Get tapes of Dr. Lorraine Day on cancer. It would make a difference, it did on my father of 82 years.
