Subject: Anyone with MMMT?
Date: 06/18/2007

HI!  Would anyone (patient or caregiver) with MMMT be willing to share their experience and treatment course?  My Mother, age 73,  will be undergoing her "last" round of Carbo/Taxol this Wednesday having had huge decreases in her CA-125 thus far.  Just trying to get an idea of the road ahead even though I know it's different for everyone.  She's doing beautifully and even just flew halfway across the country to see my daughter graduate - something we were told would NEVER happen.  Thank you to all of you who take the time to respond so thoughtfully to these very personal questions!

Regards,

Gardenia

OI was wondering how your Mom was doing? My wife was Dx 3c MMMT about the same time as your Mom.She also had Brest Cancer. (Primary Secondary Cancer). She Had Hist surgery and Lumpectomy. Because she was so weak the could only treat her with One source Chemo,Caisplatin. But she is going strong, Bowling 3 and 4 times a week and Golf on Weekender CA125 has been below 5 since her last Chemo Treatment. Just showed what Pray can do. Hope this finds you Mom the Same.

Hope your mom is in remission. I, too, have MMT. Had surgery almost 3 yrs ago and a 1.5 yr remission in which I returned to work, saw my 18 yr old grad. h.s., walk a mile and cut one half acre of grass with a hand mower. I have had taxol and taxotere when I relapsed which did not keep the beast away. I am now on oral etopocide. I have lots to do and will keep fighting. Attitude and family support keep me going. I did retjire early and without the stress feel renewed. Good luck Jo
