Bile Duct Stent - side effects?

My mother was diagnosed with Gallbladder cancer the metasisized to the Liver and Bile Duct. After having a stent inserted and a tube to drain the bile she is experienceing nausea and can not eat or drink.  she is going back to thte hosipital today.  NOt sure if this is a commomn side effect of the stent of if it is more than that.  The doctors are not saying much.
