Hi Everyone

Has anyone done apples to apples on the products ensure and reliv, if so what do you think of the two, is there a difference.

Thanks

I don't know about Reliv but I compared Ensure and Boost and I thought Boost was much more nutritionally complete than Ensure.  It comes in Boost and in Boost Plus which has more calories if you are depending on it for your main nutritional source.

The bottom line, I think, is to compare taste because you are the only one who can make that decision...no matter how good a product is, it won't do you any good if you don't drink it because it tastes nasty.

I also found it easier to put my boost in a blender (I used one of those "Magic Bullets") with ice and sometimes a piece of fruit and/or a little milk.  It tasted better and made me more likely to drink it.

Good luck!

Here is a comparison on the ingredients of both of the products you are asking about. Since "SUGAR FEEDS CANCER" it may be wise to take into consideration that that is the second ingredient listed on the Ensure label. Also check out some of the other ingredients listed to be sure if either product is safe. I just did a quick google search on one I picked at random because I was not familiar with it and here's what Wickipedia had to say: Choline chloride is mass produced and is an important additive in feed especially for chicken where it accelerates growth. With urea it forms a deep eutectic solvent. Other commercial choline salts are choline hydroxide and choline bitartrate. In foodstuffs the compound is often present as phosphatidylcholine. Here are ingredients for Ensure: Water, sugar (sucrose), corn syrup, maltodextrin (corn), calcium caseinate, high-oleic safflower oil, canola oil, soy protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, corn oil, calcium phosphate tribasic, potassium citrate, magnesium phosphate dibasic, natural and artificial flavor, soy lecithin, sodium citrate, magnesium chloride, salt (sodium chloride), carrageenan, choline chloride, potassium chloride, ascorbic acid, ferrous sulfate, alpha-tocopheryl acetate, zinc sulfate, niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, cupric sulfate, vitamin A palmitate, thiamine chloride hydrochloride, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, folic acid, chromium chloride, biotin, sodium molybdate, sodium selenate, potassium iodide, phylloquinone, vitamin D3 and cyanocobalamin. Here are the ingredients for Reliv INGREDIENTS: Soy Protein Isolate, Soy Flour, Brewer's Yeast, Lecithin, Psyllium Fiber, Dicalcium Phosphate, Ascorbic Acid, Methionine, Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Phosphate, Natural Flavor, Licorice Root, Garlic, Rhubarb Root, Rose Hips, Cayenne, Kelp, OptiZinc® Brand of Zinc Monomethionine, Ferrous Fumarate, Calcium Pantothenate, Niacinamide, Vitamin E Acetate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D3, Copper Gluconate, Papain, Bromelain, Thiamin HCL, Riboflavin, Beta Carotene, Pyridoxine HCL, Biotin, Folic Acid, Potassium Iodide, Vitamin B12, Sodium Selenite and ChromeMate® Brand of Niacin Bound Chromium Polynicotinate.   Hope this is helpful

There is a better product out there.  It is called Supplimed.  There are 660 calories to an 8oz glass of milk.  Put SuplMed Nutrients in google and read for yourself all of the benefits that this product provides.

Yes, it is expensive, but worth every dime to the patient who needs adequate nutrition and calories, but can't get a lot down.
