Hi All,

I had an IVP done 2 years ago which showed a growth in my bladder. I was referred to a urologist for cystoscope. The urologist, upon looking at my IVP results, told me emphatically, there is something there. He then proceded to do the cystoscope. When he looked through the camera and onto a screen there was nothing there. Nothing at all that he could see! It was so clear in the IVP images and only two weeks time had passed to the cystoscope.

I have an appointment with my primary care physician tomorrow for first appointment since this really scarey event. My question is this: Should I happily (even if an element of wishing to maintain denial of the possibility is present), just forget all about the first IVP images? Or, request a repeat since it's been a little over two years now? Am I obsessing about nothing?

The main reason this haunts me is that my mother has had 3 surgeries to remove bladder cancer, and in addition to heredity, I have the other risk factors. My mother also had skin cancer (successfully removed w/o reccurence) and I had it in 3 places myself, already.

Any thoughts about this would be much appreciated. I don't want to live in a constant state of alarm but worry the cystoscope or Dr. missed seeing it. Is that possible? Or, did I get someone else's IVP images and results? I tend to avoid seeing the Dr. for fear of bad news. I also tend to ramble as you can tell. Thanks!  -Teachy
