The end came

I previously posted here about my husband's experience with a Whipple and the scary news of his numbers rising.

Today he died very quickly and he is at peace. Although I know that the coming months will be difficult, I am at peace as well.

When he had the Whipple and the chemo/radiation therapy he was convinced he would make it. He even went through physical therapy to rehab a sore shoulder because he was planning on living a long time.

From July 3, 2006 when he was diagnosed through July 13 when he had the Whipple to mid-April when the cancer recurred, he was an inspiration to everyone he knew. But he faced death with as outstanding an attitude> he talked about it freely and made peace with friends and family. He got the death he deserved- at home with his wife by his side, with no pain. He just deserved much more time on this earth.

So please lift a glass or say a prayer for Wayne, the kindest, bravest man I ever knew.

I know how you feel. My dad was diagnosed at the end of last August and seems to be taking a hard fall now. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. My dad is my hero and I am scared to let go, but I know at some point he will not feel any more pain or suffering because he will be w/ the Lord. I pray that the Lord will help you through these hard times and again my heart goes out to you and your family.

God Bless,
Randy Grierson
