Enlarged Lymphnodes After Rai

I had a TT  with neck dissection on May 14, 2007.  I had 26 lymphnodes taken with only 10 that were cancerous.  Went "hypo" until June 21st.  that is when I had the RAI dose (150).  I didn't have any problems with it until a week later.  Today, when I woke up I noticed my lymphnodes under my armpits completely swollen!  My boobs hurt too.  I know, weird huh?  My doctor says its probably a reaction to the RAI but he's never seen this before.  I have also noticed my taste is completely off.  Has anyone else experienced the lymphnode thing.  By the way, had my whole body scan today and 3 hours later they had results of everything was negative.  What great news.....

 I had a TT with left neck dissection on Feb, 2007, with many lymphnodes removed (69).  I had no axilliary swelling, but my left breast became larger.  I don't know if it is related to the surgery, RAI or what. My surgeon and my gynecologist don't seem alarmed by it. I also had no taste for the following 3  weeks after RAI.  Congratulations on the WBS results.  Lois

I did have some soreness under my arm left a few weeks post  RAI, but could never feel any nodes. I also had a sebacceous cyst come up on the edge of the armpit area [I had this issue a year or two ago and, therefore, recognized what was happening].

I had a very similar experience. I only had 1 lymph node taken out but about 2 weeks later, my left armpit was swollen and a lot of subcutaneous cyst all over my body (especially breasts). i was so worried I went to two doctors and both said they have never seen this kinda symptoms but they feel normal. I also have this tightness feeling in my whole neck.

I, too, developed a few cysts on my right chest after the I-131 treatment, enlarged lymph nodes in right armpit and a previous cyst in my right breast has been bothering me.  Have an appt w/ endo next week and will ask her then and will reply back with her feedback.  Also, had no taste for about 3 weeks which was soooo disappointing b/c I was really looking forward to some decent food after the specialized diet...I tore in to a piece of pizza and it tasted like cardboard!  Also, have sudden pains in different areas of my neck and salivary glands and then they dissapate. 

Thanks for your response.  I will be curious what your endo says.  My upper neck and armpits are still swollen.  I too have more pain in my breasts now..especially during that PMS time.  Thanks again,
