Subject: Symptoms; Help The Mankind....

Hello,
This thought just came to me that, would it have been little different if all these people here, who have suffered due to this deadly desease, have been saved? Had they known or identified the symptoms early?

The person who is suffering always knows/realizes, the symptoms his/her body had been giving him/her for a long time before anything serious came out. It is possible that no one was there to guide and correct at that time. And they knew it, when it became too late for them to do anything. yearly medical checkups and occasional visit to doctor is not everything. It is too risky (and I think ignorant and lazy) to leave everything to the doctor and medicines. If they had known the sysmptoms early they could have been able to cure it.

I belive, one can guide the new generation, the blooming life outside our own bodies, by sharing our own experiences, symptoms (in context of this particular thread), tell them how it was for years - a constant set of symptoms- before it became a deadly desease, and save their future from one more danger.

Say for example, how was the, acidity, indigestion, belching, gas, bowl movements, 'mucus staying in throat' (you gotta spit it every now and then...), blood from throat, and nose (very small, small, much, too much - also - rarely, winters, summers, occasionally, every now and then...) and sharp/acute headache and earache patterns in the patients of cancer related to head, throat and stomach? What were they troubled about within the body and outside? What were their common complaints regarding their health, for a long time before the disease actually turned to become cancer (about couple of years reading would be very helpfull).

May God bless all of us. we stay in peace and depart in peace. peace for all of us...

regards,

What a thoughtful note you wrote regarding early assessment of symptoms. Thank you...

Well some of the stuff you state I agree with, but how about when you point out symptoms to a doctor, several doctors and they up and tell you, your bi polar just by taking a 8 question test, here you go have a antidepressant, go home and try to reduce stress. Or you go to another, you tell him hey I had blood in my stools 4 times this summer with mucous, and he says, hmmmmm sounds like anxiety gives you a different antidepressant, you quit going to him cause you know it isnt just anxiety, go to the next doctor tell hm the symptoms once again and this moron sets there and tell you, a 33 year old male a servant of the public a policeman, "you are too young to worry about cancer" God when I heard that I about dropped right there. He then tells me I think your problems are stress related here you go hers a different antidepressant. hmmmmmm hello none of my symptoms have cleared up in 6 months here doc, don't you think thats weird? Even after I told him my concerns of both my parents dying of cancer, did some of my own research for this clown on lichen planus and psoriasis being pre cancerous and whats he do? He ups your antidepressant intake by 10 mg. Instead of him scheduling you to see the oncologist who is in same building that he leases to himself, one floor upstairs thats it, he gives you another pill, when you make another appointment and return and say hey look this stuff isn't working, what's he do? Gives you a stronger one. It isn't all about not knowing whats going on with your body all of the time, its finding a doctor these days who actually cares and wants to help you, not just hang you out there to dry. I went to this guy and asked him about the cancer due to my mother and father both passing from it and I even had concerns of it even before the lichn planus even showed up, whats he say lol you dont have anything to be worried about. geesh you have got to be kidding, why are there young children in St. judes then ? ask yourself that one, now he refuses to give my medical records to a cancer center I have an appointment at this coming tuesday, gee i am so eager ...not!! its more than likely too late for me now since it has now been 8 months that I have been jacked around.
So the symptoms dont always lie with the patient, it lies with the non knowing doctor and who does not care about patients, which seems to be very prevelant in this are of southern illinois. this is pathetic and President Bush wants to know why doctors are being sued so much these days. Hmmmmmmm gee I wonder, let's reduce the mal prctice benefits some more. geesh unreal this country sometimes.

My husband an I both have canccer. He has head and neck now met to bone and liver. In 2002 was diagnosed after I had a fit and made him go to my surgeon to biopsy lumps on his neck. He always had heartburn, belched, indegestion then to occasional bloody noses in his sleep, Blowing his nose a lot. Later to massive pains in the whole side of his head. He went to a walk in clinic and they put him on antibiotics, CT scan of head that just showed polips in nasal cavity. ENT visit that diagnosed nothing. After I took him to my surgeon who I could trust to investigate the lumps and did came back to say they were cancerous and coming from the head. He called ENT and told him to look again. He did and found a tumor growing in his sinus cavity and sent him to oncologist who put him on massive radiation and chemo and thought cured afterwards. NOT! 2004 metastatic. Starting with back pain, and not feeling well in general. The not feeling well came from a dead thyroid from radiation! No one monitored his thyroid which is a high probabilty to damage from radiation! I emailed his GP with his night sweat issues and tired with back ache. He ordered a bonescan and labs. Yes, cancer in the bone and thyroid was nonfunctioning. In a nut shell you have to fight for your health and keep going until you get answers! We both are still fighting and it has been a tough road for our family.

My dad is 82 years now. Last year he was diagnosed with high-grade prostate cancer. First we started praying and having faith that means believe in God and healing power, asking God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit to work on him. I saw you mentioned God and I almost dropped when the doctor told you not to worry so if you mention God you are on the right track. Well, I started him on better eating habits, good water with a filtration process on the water, on 15% of meat protein (turkey, chicken or fish). Of course he complained a lot. No refined foods, all the organic food we could get (not easy to get all at the same place and more expensive - but worth it) like fruits and vegetables 85% all kinds, whole wheat bread, organic (protein), some other protein not from meat. Fiber fills you up and protein. Walking outside to get sunshine on face at least 20 minutes with no suntan lotion, and a positive outlook. (Hope-last thing to lose). Excellent vitamins and minerals tabs (liquid form are better - hard to get but not impossible), patented high quality a.m. and p.m. vitamins delivered to home. Well, it’s been a year now and he went to his cardiologist and in 2 months of doing all the good stuff, his doctor for the first time in 12 years too him off one of his hypertension drugs. The other one he said instead of every day take on every other day. The diuretic he took he said he was lowering the dose and that if after checking him again in 2 months or less on his next checkup he will start taking him off slowlt of the other 2 drugs (remember he is 82 years old). Of course he stopped the 15%-85% (meat and fruit and vegetables) but he is doing good still today. He got rid of the excess of drugs and still eats 50% good so his body was detoxed a lot with his changes. Also check to see if you find in California Dr. Lorraine Day. Great advice. Learn to make healthy food interesting in cooking and still tasteful. We did it. You will feel better in every way. Mentally and physically. Always get 3 opinions. Dad’s cancer doctor told him to get heavy dose of radiation. Did you know that airplane fuel is 100% octane or higher? In other words clean, so give your body clean high octane food, water, exercise (walking) and most important God, church, people that are in faith. God Bless. Surfs up!

Hello,
I am 16 years old, and I have a hard lump on the back of my neck. I have had this lump for about a year or two years now, and my parents and doctors know, yet, they won't take me seriously. I have recently transfered doctors, but I was wondering if I should bring it up, or if I'm just being a hypochondriac? I it hard, an inch or more in diameter, and is right next to my spinal cord and skull. I am a very serious athelete, I practice sometimes for 4 or more hours a day, and when I do, I often get neck "cramps" on that side of my neck, and they go further down to my shoulder sometimes. I don't think that this is normal, but my previous doctor said that it was just a swollen lymph node. I have done some research on this, but everything I have found said that the lymph node should have decreased in size by now.

Also, I found this in another post, it said "Say for example, how was the, acidity, indigestion, belching, gas, bowl movements, 'mucus staying in throat' (you gotta spit it every now and then...), blood from throat, and nose (very small, small, much, too much - also - rarely, winters, summers, occasionally, every now and then...) and sharp/acute headache and earache patterns in the patients of cancer related to head, throat and stomach?" Well, I constantly have URI's (Upper Respiratory Infections), and always have mucas in my throat, even when the URI has been cleared up. Stomach aches, belching, gas, bowl movements are all common to me on a regular basis, although I have never really noticed blood in my throat - every once in a while, but very rare.

Am I just being a hypochondriac, or should I push my parents to let me have this checked out.

Coletterochelle,

1.) Listen to what your body is telling you. It does not often lie about things. There are times when one "symptom" may make you think it is a really bad thing that is happening, such as anxeity can make you feel like your having a heart attack when you are not. It's better to find out you were wrong than to wait it out and DIE because you were RIGHT!

2.) Use a good Internet Search Engine, such as Google to search for each symptom. Look at everything you find related to it, and specifically for info that matches exactly how you feel.

3.) Read everything you can find about the symptoms you have a second time to be sure you have it right.

4.) Get print outs of what you find that is related.

5.) Use a highlighter pen to highlight the possible causes of these symptoms. (Highlighted text stands out and makes people "want" to read it.)

These things will be your "bullets". You are the "gun".

First you go to your parents, sit them down, tell them you are serious and will not accept a "you're tripping" attitude about it anymore.

If they still scoff, sputter and deny...inform them that you are going to seek help from outside thier circle becauce YOU need to know and have the peace of mind that knowing will bring, or, at the worst end that you need to know so treatments can begin NOW, not 2 weeks AFTER it's too late. (Optionally you may inform them that it is a crime to deny proper health care to a minor child.)

If they do not want to take you seriously, call your local health department, explain your situation and ask where you can go for free cancer screenings.

Call your local Child Welfare office and get them involved.

Go directly to the principal of your school, the school nurse, a teacher that you may feel cares about students beyond the school activities.

Walk into the emergency room of the nearest hospital and ask for help. Explain EVERYTHING to EVERYONE to be sure SOMEONE hears what you are saying.

Whatever you do, DO NOT JUST SIT THERE ACCEPTING THE LACK OF CONCERN FROM OTHERS!!!

You have taken a positive step forward already by asking for help, advice in this forum.

Good Luck, Coletterochelle.

Please keep us posted here!

Subject: Just read your message about lump on back
Date: 12/22/2006

Hello,

I just read your message about having a lump on your back and wondered if you might be suffering from Cushings.  Cushings is when you have too much cortisol in  your body.  It can come from taking steroids for asthma, allergies, back injections etc.  Or a pitutiary tumor....or more rarely an adrenal tumor.

One of the symptoms is a "hump" which is a "fat pad" at the base of your neck/top of your back.

Please read up on cushings to see if any of these other symptoms are being experienced by you.  If so you'll want to see a "cushings" expert vs. a regular endocrinologist because most endos never see a case.

I have had steroid induced cushings from back injections and do not know yet if there is a pituitary tumor but I have lost the function of my pit gland.  I'm  happy to answer any and all questions as it was a long and painful journey to find the right diagnosis.

Hope you're doing well!

Gina
