Hi there,

I was diagnosed in feb. with stage 1c, and had a complete hysterectomy.

Had to have 6 rounds of chemo, the last one was june 19.  my Dr. says I shouldnt worry,it didnt spread to any  organs, only I had positive washings for floating cells in the abdomen.

now that I am done with the chemo, I should be happy, but every time I have a pain in the abdomen, I think  Oh no! its back.   It could just be gas, or a normal pain every one gets.  I am just wondering how long till you just dont think about it every waking minute?

My friend had breast cancer 6 years ago I asked her how long it took to get her life back..she said 5 years..she still is vigilant about pains or things happening to her body...I think once burned your always wondering but like the death of a loved one time is the great healer .

Hi!

I had stage 3a ovarian cancer and am in remission now for 1 1/2 years, but am getting maintenance chemo.  Even with that, and going for blood tests every month, I still go crazy whenever I feel pain in my stomach or abdomen.  My sister has been in remission for 13 years, and she say it still bothers her when she feels pain, but doesn't think about it otherwise. She says it just goes to the back of your mind and comes out once in a while, but less and less over time.  I think the answer is you're always going to think about it, but it gets somewhat better over time.  The worry is perfectly natural.  I talk to my gyn,and mostly to my oncologist about it, and that helps womewhat.         jayne
