Hi, I'm new here and looking for info. And it looks like you all have alot of info. and a great support system here.
First let me tell you I have a Dr. appt. 12-27-04
to see my OBGYN.
Now, let me start I am looking for symptoms of overian cancer. I'm scared I have it.
My symptoms are abdominal bloating, abdominal pressure, blood in my urine. I had a heavy period non stop from Jan.'04 thru June '04
Then nothing since then. I feel like I have fluid in my upper abdomin, I can actually hear in when I walk. I havent seen my gyn in 4 yrs. due to insurance. Now I'm scared. Do I really wanna know?

One of the first things we realized in dealing with my dad's two different cancers and my mother's malignant melanoma is that you MUST know what you are dealing with before you can face it and overcome it. Being frightened is much more scary than knowing what you must deal with. I know ovarian cancer symptoms can be vague but I also feel that you know when something's wrong and you have to stay on it til they find what it is. Then be an educated patient and use all the resources avaiable to you to make the best decisions you can.
Although I've never participated in the message boards before I have found some good information and inspiration there. Keep us posted because there's always somebody out there who might just have the information you need.

Yes--You DO want to know. Ignoring any symptoms you might have won't make them or their unlying cause--if any--go away. For your own peace of mind as well as your health, get to a doctor now. You seem to fear the worst; but at least if you see a doctor and it turns out to be something to really worry about, the sooner treatment can begin. My mother died of ovarian cancer. She had symptoms for a long time and refused her doctor's recommendation to have a full hysterectomy and oopherectomy. She paid for it with her life. By the time it got so bad that she absolutely had to go to the doctor, the cancer had spread to her intestines, stomach, and pleural lining of the lungs. You really may be worrying about nothing more than a severe case of endometriosis or other common gyn complaint which can be treated with medication.
