I read your email I'm so very sorry. My Mom too found out she had cancer on Oct. Her Dr. wanted her to have chemo she told the Dr. that she has never wanted chemo,but the Dr. insisted that she would make an appointment in Denver at the cancer center.We made the appt.The first thing the Dr. said is you has ovarien cancer it's the size of a grapefruit and we need to take it out right away! A week later we went back to Denver the Dr told us she had cancer around her intestines and that she would not do surgery. In a strange way we were all relived it sounded like a major surgery. My Mom has never in her whole life had surgery we were all very very scared!On the way home Mom came out and said to my husband I'm not going to have chemo I'm full of cancer I'm going to enjoy my life day by day and not in a hospital bed.

Hi there,
I was diagnosed with colon cancer 6 years ago at the age of 50. I was devastated as I had never been sick in my life. I had sugery, chemo nad radiation and went back to work. A year later, the cancer came back in my psoas muscle in my abdomen. More surgery and chemo. Then another recurrance and this time I said - no more chemo for me. I did have some radiation to see if they could shrink the tumor. It did help somewhat. Last December, 2003, I was given months to live. This Christmas is very special for me as I expect it could be my last. I am reight now feeling not too bad. I am due for another colonoscopy in January and am afraid they might find something. But in order to deal with anything, we must know what we are dealing with. Good luck to you all and all the wonderful people on this website.
