Advice

I am 47 y/o. I had squamous cell CA 4 years ago and though the original site has been cancer free, I was never routinely scanned for metastasis to other organs outside of the pelvis. Now I have a large liver tumor. I am not sure where to start in asking questions about treatments and am rather dubious about my doctors' willingness to think 'outside the box' in planning my treatment.

Would anyone be able to offer any advice? Encouragement? I don't think my Kaiser insurance will cover CTCA.

The CTCA is the best possible place you can go for treatment.  Especially the one in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  They don't give up on hope and provide you with the quality of life.  They combine treatment either chemo or radiation what ever the need is along with nutrition, natural medician and psychological if you need it.
