I am not sure if this is the same thing, but I have a family member who is receiving stereotactic radition to her vertebrae. Supposedly it is highly targeted and would have minimal side effects because they were staying away from the stomach and intestines. Nevertheless on day 3 she became violently ill with nausea and vomiting.
Her doctor ordered her Kytril which worked immediately and she has felt fine ever since. One warning though, it is $75 per pill in the US, so I would make sure it is approved by your insurance company, or get help from Roche's patient assistance program. Roche told me it is approved by medicare part D for side effects from radiation. I believe it is about $28 US in Canada (because I looked into it before we got the medicare issues worked out).
Again, I am not sure if this would work on these types of cramps, but it might be wise to ask the Doctor. Good luck!
