Has anyone used Deramaxx with TCC in the bladder?

My dog, Annie, has been on piroxicam for two years now.  I did notice toward the end of the long canine message thread (the one with over 500 responses) there are a couple of Deramaxx users.

I noticed you, poodlelover and abbysharp--maybe you can contact them directly.

Good luck

We have our Lucy on Deramaxx. She had a very bad reaction to Piroxicam (bloody stools, throwup) so we switched her.  She hasn't had a change in symptoms, but it hasn't gotten worse.  We also just changed her diet to a 75% low-carb, dry food and 25% raw diet.

 what's your experience with Deramaxx?

Jazz has had diarrhea and a rash.  I don't know if this is part of the diease or the deramaxx.  Her Dr's had me take her off extra foods and she is on Ultra Senior and white rice only.

She moans in her sleep and often with general movement but she seems happy and pleasant.  We took a short walk yesterday, her energy is low.

Hi Jazz's Mom,

Yes, I have been using Deramaxx since Lucky's diagnosis in March.  He seems to be doing well on it and has had no tummy upsets resulting from its use.  He takes it every day.  As far as tumor growth, it hasn't done much to prevent it although I was told that with Deramaxx alone I could expect 3-7 months of quality of life instead of 1.5 months if I did nothing.    The tumor did double in size the end of July.  I have not had another screening but I do know that it is growing.  In August I began to see him straining when he urinated.  This occurred only in the morning.  Now it occurs throughout the day and the stream is less.  Becaues he also has prostate cancer, he is straining during bowel movements too.  Otherwise he is great.  Appetite is super and his energy levels are still strong.  I guess the Deramaxx is working as advertised, we are in the 6th month.  I also have him on a high protein diet, very little carbs and am treating him holistically with the exception of the Deramaxx.  Hope this helps.
