Stent Problems

My Mother was diagnosed with Gallbladder Cancer when she went in for a routine Gallblader removal.  It has metastized to her liver and Bile Duct.  They put in an external stent and she has been nauseous with noa appetitie ever since.  After about a month it started leaking and they just replaced it on Monday.  Since then she has been throwing up and is now back in the hospital for dehydration.  They have postponed her chemo beacuse of this.  I have read so many posts regarding the stent and every one seems to feel so much better afterwards.  Yes, it helped the jaudice but everyone is baffled by the side effects.  Has anyone else experienced any similar effects?

A family member was diagnosed with hepatocellulas carcinoma, a rare bile duct cancer that only effects individuals 65 and older. He is not 65 nor has he ever had hepatitis.  He recently had stents put in and he has no longer hungry, has lost massive weight and is in alot of pain.
