Hi,
I had Ethyol shots daily about an hour prior to radiation therapy. The shot was administered in my upper arm. Ethyol is intended to help preserve the salivary glands from damage from the radiation. I understand some people do not take Ethyol well - and my RO was adament that if the Ethyol caused any problems that would impact my radiation treatment, then I would have to stop the Ethyol.
Post treatment, I started taking Evoxac (similar to Saligen) to help stimulate salivary gland functioning. I am 9 months out of radiation treatment, and I have what I would consider a reasonable amount of saliva - although not enough to eat dry foods, which I need to wash down with water.
So, would I take Ethyol again? The answer is yes.
Best wishes,
Chris
