Subject: New to the group but not thyroid cancer - 7 1/2 yrs
Date: 07/26/2007

Just popping on to introduce myself.  I was diagnosed 7 1/2 years ago with papillary thyroid cancer.  I have had 3 rounds of RAI totalling 500 mCi's which is the maximum lifetime dose. In January of 2006 my Tg was rising again and my endo said I should investigate Ext Beam Radiation.  I told him I did not want it - I was not dying of lack of radiation.  Something else was wrong.

I sought the help of a holistic MD.  He ran a complete blood profile on me (12 vials) and determined I had major imbalances in my body.  One thing that is critical that I had none of is Iodine.  (check out www.iodine4health.com if you want more info).  He began a treatment of 50 mgs Iodoral plus bio-idential hormones, iron, detoxification of my liver and told me to get my mercury amalgams removed and the root canal tooth as well.

I am happy to report that I have done all this and my markers are down 10 points without radiation.  I eat an organic / whole foods diet along with many supplements.  I feel better than I have in years (I am 41 yrs).  I am using DMSA for the chelation of mercury from my body.  I have discovered that it was the mercury poisoning that created a major issue for me.  The other thing that made a HUGE difference was that this doctor switched me from Synthroid to Armour Thyroid medication.  My Endo told me that I could not have it and that it would not keep me supressed.  Well it has!  I was at .09 but fluctuated all the time on Synthroid.  Now I am on 4 grains (240 mgs) of Armour and have remained supressed for 1 1/2 years at .01 TSH.  I feel awesome and have lost weight w/o any issues.  My joints no longer ache and my hormones are balancing.  Check out www.stopthethyroidmadness.com for more info on natural thyroid hormones.

Anyway, that's my story.  If you want to see my entire journey I am writing it in a blog.  I have about 1 year yet to record (the latest info).  But maybe it will help someone else who is just beginning.

I am currently studying for my doctorate in naturopathy so that I can teach others about natural healing from cancer.
